Healthy Aged Skin – Naturally

Skin problems can plague many all their life while other problems can appear seemingly overnight. Sensitive skin can develop with age and some people soon realise that their skin can no longer tolerate the chemicals and harsh fragrances that it could in previous years. Sensitive skin reactions can include redness, itchiness, tenderness, thinning, psoriasis, dermatitis, ulcers, pimples and even scabs. All of this sounds awful but choosing creams and lotions made from natural ingredients can reduce and even cure these problems completely.
As we age our skin can become thinner and many people decide not to moisturise or look after their skin properly anymore. This is not the best course of action because our skin constantly needs more moisture and care, especially as it ages. Neglecting the skin can lead to dry, itchy and irritated skin that in turn can lead to sores that invite infection. However it is easy to look after aging skin with these natural skin care tips.

For elderly skin use lotions and creams that contain natural plant oils like apricot, almond and soybean. Apricot oil is beneficial for all skin types, especially dry and inflamed skin. High in vitamin A and minerals it nourishes the skin.Almond oil contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and D and a small amount of vitamin E, it also has a rich concentration of oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids. Good for all skin types but especially good for dry and irritated skin it helps relieve irritation, inflammation and itching. If you have sensitive skin, almond oil could be the solution to your skin problems. These oils all contain the vitamins and minerals needed to moisturise and nurture the skin gently but effectively and soybean oil is clinically proven to minimize the appearance of hair.
Products containing avocado oil and Shea butter not only heal and soothe sensitive skin but also help fade age spots and skin discolouration. Great for the hands, chest and arms, avocado oil penetrates deeply into the base of the skin and is well suited for dry skin conditions. A good oil for wrinkles and sun damaged skin.
Feet can become dry and cracked easily but they can also be soothed and repaired well with products containing Shea butter, macadamia oil, plant oils and essential oils. Essential oils like tea tree, spearmint and may chang deodorise and disinfect the feet safely.
Artificial fragrances and even essential oils can irritate some people with very sensitive skin, especially the elderly. Look for natural products that are fragrance free to ensure the skin is being protected from any irritants.
Commercial soaps can strip the skin of natural oils causing it to dry out. Use soap made from plant oils and one that is 100% natural. Using a natural soap can prevent many skin irritations, natural soaps can even be used on the hair. This is the easiest way to look after aging skin!
Natural, fragrance free facial moisturisers that contain ingredients like rose hip and vitamin E improve the skins elasticity and actually repair some of the damage caused by neglect. Nourishing the cells deep within the skin ensures when they reach the surface that they appear more youthful and are definitely healthier. This can also lift an aging persons self esteem and self confidence. After all we all want to look and feel our best!
Sensitive skin doesn’t need to suffer from irritating skin problems, it simply needs the right nourishment, moisture and nutrients which can be found in simple, natural skin care products.
