Those of you who are interested in keeping your body healthy, your mind alert and watch what you eat should also consider what you are putting on your skin to be absorbed by your body. Skin care products contain a myriad of chemicals and using more than one product, and most of us do, compounds this chemical problem for your body. The toxins you absorb through your skin are dealt with by your body in the same way any ingested toxin would be, predominantly by your liver and kidneys.

Natural skin care products do not contain these harmful chemicals and therefore do not add toxins to your system, leaving it free to fight other infections and function normally.

Natural skin care products can actually benefit your skin with the addition of added vitamins and extracts, some of which fight free radicals (Free radicals are unstable molecules produced from sources like air pollution, radiation, and peroxides) Reducing free radicals in the system helps prevent disease throughout the body, including the brain. Free radicals are widely known for their assistance in premature aging so using skin care products high in antioxidants can prevent premature aging of the skin.
There are other ways to keep your skin and circulatory system healthy, try these simple natural skin care tips:

 Use natural skin care products that contain good amounts of vitamin E. Vitamin E is well known for its antioxidant capabilities. Antioxidants like Vitamin E work to neutralize free radicals and stabilize cell membranes. Vital skin cells need to be protected by antioxidants.

 Look for products that contain plant extracts such as Spirulina. Spirulina for instance is rich in vitamins, proteins and trace elements. Spirulina is blue - green algae grown in fresh and brackish inland waters. Packed with nutrients, Spirulina is 60% all-vegetable protein, rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B-12 and the rare essential fatty acid, GLA.
Other extracts like Cucumber, Ginseng, Wheatgrass and Aloe Vera all have properties unique for the health of your skin.

 Use a body scrub at least weekly to stimulate your system and help eliminate toxins. Exfoliating leaves the skin looking and feeling fresh and clean, helps heal minor blemishes (body pimples) and helps prevent their formation, leaves the surface of the skin smooth, helps your circulation, evens the tone and colour of the skin and prevents ingrown hairs!

 For a gentler option try using a natural bristle body brush daily. Your skin has its own cycle of shedding dead skin cells.  Using a body brush before showering or bathing is one of the best things we can do for our bodies, it helps eliminate toxins, gently exfoliates (preventing ingrown hairs) and also stimulates the circulation and the lymphatic system, reducing and preventing cellulite!
