LanaB only sources ingredients from reputable Australian companies with a proven track record in providing pure and natural products. None of the products we use in our range have been tested on animals. We use 100% natural active ingredients We are wholly and proudly Australian Made and Owned. Our products contain high levels of vitamins and essential oils.    Our products do not contain animal products. (Beeswax in Lip Balm) Most products available scent free on request Although we use high-grade ingredients some people such as those with sensitive skin, those who are pregnant, have epilepsy or high or low blood pressure should first consult a qualified aromatherapist if they have any doubt about using our natural skin care products.  If your skin is prone to sensitivity please test with a small portion of product behind your ear. Being natural handmade products the scent and colour may vary slightly between batches, however this does not affect the quality of the product. It is also important that you don't use these products on babies and keep them away from your eyes as some contain essential oils and these can irritate sensitive areas. Every one of our natural skin care products has been made to do more than just cleanse or moisturise your skin. Wonderful natural ingredients that will rejuvenate and repair skin damage, reduce wrinkles and lines and nurture your skin to create a more youthful appearance are added in generous amounts to all our products so you can maintain beautiful skin easily and quickly. Even our essential oils have been chosen within aromatherapy guidelines so they will add extra benefits for your skin.

Our Ingredients

Almond Oil Sweet: Almond oil is obtained from the dried kernels of the almond tree. It is excellent at softening and soothing the skin and also helps to balance the skins moisture.
Good for all skin types but especially good for dry and irritated skin it helps relieve irritation, inflammation and itching. Almond oil contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and D and a small amount of vitamin E, it also has a rich concentration of oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.
If you have sensitive skin, almond oil could be the solution to your skin problems.

Apricot Kernel Oil: This medium to light oil is beneficial for all skin types, especially dry and inflamed skin. High in vitamin A and minerals it nourishes the skin.

Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe Vera is also a great skin moisturizer that helps to keep skin supple by bringing oxygen to the cells, and therefore increasing the strength of skin tissue. Aloe Vera Gel is hydrating, softening, healing and has anti-inflammatory properties for the skin.

Avocado Oil: Contains vitamins A, B, D, E and is rich in Lecithin and Potassium.  This thick oil penetrates deeply into the base of the skin and is well suited for dry skin conditions. A good oil for wrinkles and sun damaged skin. The sterolins in avocado oil have been found to diminish age spots.  It also contains antioxidants and is good for sensitive skin.

Bi Carbonate of Soda: (Sodium bicarbonate) An inorganic salt used for its antiseptic and pH adjusting abilities in cosmetic creams.  Bicarbonate of Soda has good cleansing and soothing properties, and is used to relieve itching, insect bites and burns. It also softens the skin beautifully.

Canola Oil: This oil is usually found in combination with other carrier oils. It is high in Vitamin E. Used in lotions, creams, massage oils.

Carbomer: The function of a carbomer is to act as an emulsion stabilizer and to also act  as a thickening agent.

Cetearyl Alcohol: This is an emulsifying (substance that makes oil and water mix) wax from plant oils often used as an emollient and stabilizer which helps thicken our products.

Citric Acid: Citric acid is an organic acid derived from plants.

Cocamido Propyl Betaine: This is derived from coconuts and is a gentle cleansing agent.

Decyl Glucoside: Decyl Glucoside is a natural cleansing agent we use instead of sulfates and is derived from sugar, which provides a mild foaming action.

Diazolidinyl Urea: This is a preservative, a broad spectrum anti-microbial of synthetic origin.

Epsom Salts: (Magnesium Sulfate) Adding Epsom Salts to a bath or foot soak is an excellent way of combating stress and alleviating muscular aches and pains. The high magnesium content in Epsom salt also helps the removal of acids through the skin this means it is good for drawing out toxins and also smoothes the skin.

Fine Sea Salt: (Sodium chloride) Salt is an antiseptic wound healer, and helps draw impurities from your skin. All salts have detoxifying and muscle-relaxing properties.

Glycerine (Vegetable): A colourless sweet viscous liquid derived from vegetable fats. A humectant (A substance that helps retain moisture) used in moisturisers due to its water binding capabilities. Good for sensitive skins.

Glyceryl Stearate: This is made from hardened vegetable oil and vegetable glycerine with an addition of vegetable stearic acid. Serves as an emulsifier.

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose: A naturally derived polymer that is used as a thickener in creams and lotions and helps modify viscosity and form gels with water-soluble ingredients.

Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate: This is a preservative, a broad spectrum anti-microbial of synthetic origin.

Isopropyl Myristate: is a water-white liquid wax that can easily penetrate the skin and it also helps make lotions feel creamier.

Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is waxy plant extract and not in fact oil. It is light, non-greasy and absorbs fast into skin leaving no greasy feeling. Jojoba oil has good moisturising and nourishing properties as it is rich in vitamin E. Good for all skin types it also relives sunburn, skin irritations and can soften fine lines and wrinkles. Jojoba oil is a great preservative and anti-oxidant. (Substance that prevents the damaging effects of oxidation)
 
Methyl Paraben: It is one of the most commonly used preservatives in cosmetics and is considered a safe synthetic preservative. 

PEG-100 Stearate: This is a coconut-derived emulsifier.

PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate: This is a surfactant (cleansing agent) and is considered gentle and effective for most skin types.

Pumice Stone: Pumice Stone is a naturally occurring volcanic stone made up of minerals such as silicon, magnesium and iron. These minerals make the skin soft and glowing. As in our Pumice Foot Scrub fine pumice stone exfoliates areas of hard skin, such as the feet and elbows, to remove dead skin cells and leave the it soft and moisturised.

Propyl Paraben: A safe preservative used to protect against bacteria and fungus.

Propylene Glycol: A humectant  (A substance that helps retain moisture) It also helps active ingredients penetrate the skin.

Rose Hip Oil: This oil is used to regenerate the skin and reduce the signs of premature aging. Rose hip oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, is high in gamma linoliec acid (GLA) and vitamin C. Rose hip oil is often used in products made for stretch marks, burns, scars and mature dry skin.

Shea Nut Butter: A plant lipid that is used as an emollient (a substance that has a softening and soothing effect on the skin) in cosmetics.

Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate: An organic preservative derived from the amino acid glycine.

Sodium Stearate : This is a soap type emulsifier made from Stearic acid.

Soybean Oil:  This is light oil, contains linoleic acid, good for all skin types and is easily absorbed. We use soybean oil in our natural skin care formulations with great success. Also, soybean oil is clinically proven to minimize the appearance of hair. It has a very high-unsaturated fatty acid compound, 2% sterolins and contains vitamin E.

Spirulina Extract: Rich in vitamins, proteins and trace elements. Spirulina is blue- green algae grown in fresh and brackish inland waters. Packed with nutrients, Spirulina is 60% all-vegetable protein, rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B-12 and the rare essential fatty acid, GLA.

Stearic Acid (Palm Stearic) A vegetable derivative used to stiffen and stabilize lotions and creams. Occurs naturally in vegetable fats. A white, waxy, natural fatty acid.

Sucrose: (white sugar) Sugar contains Oleic acid, which gently helps dissolve dead skin cells. A good exfoliant, renews skin cells and helps even out the skin tone.

Triethanolamine: An emulsifier, made from vegetable fat.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is well known for its antioxidant capabilities. (Antioxidants protect vital cell structures by neutralizing molecules called “free radicals”. Free radicals are unstable molecules produced from sources like air pollution, radiation, and peroxides.)
Antioxidants like Vitamin E work to neutralize free radicals and stabilize cell membranes. Vital skin cells need to be protected by antioxidants. This is why the incorporation of antioxidants like Vitamin E into skin care products is so important.

Witch Hazel: Plant derived astringent, oily skin masks. Witch Hazel has been used for generations to soothe and cool the body thanks to natural anti-inflammatory properties. It has also served as an astringent, to firm and tone the skin.

Wheat Germ Oil: Wheat Germ Oil is rich in vitamin E and is useful for dry and mature skin. It is well known for its ability to heal scar tissues, smooth stretch marks, and soothe burns.

Xanthan Gum: A high-molecular polysaccharide excretion product from bacteria (Xanthomas campestris) composed of glucose, mannose & glucuronic acid. It is used as a thickener in cosmetics and also foods. Xanthan gum itself is not harmful to human skin or digestive systems.

At LanaB we have chosen to use a synthetic preservative in some of our natural skin care products in very low quantities, less than 0.5%. This is because all our products are made freshly in small batches and to protect you from bacteria we need to be assured that they are the safest they can be. Most people do not store their natural cosmetics in the refrigerator and this can increase the risk of bacteria and reduce the effectiveness of the active ingredients. Our products do not need refrigeration and you can be assured they are safe at normal temperatures. Economically we can provide you with more product at one time because they will stay “Lovely and Fresh” until the very last drop!
