What essential oils cause photosensitization?
Mainly the citrus essential oils, such as orange, lemon, lime and mandarin. At LanaB we have used a combination of citrus essential oils in our Salt Based Body Buff but the quantity should not cause any photosensitization. Photosensitization is usually caused by using the oils in high concentration on the skin before allowing UV light to react with it.
Why use a hand balm overnight?
Applying a hand balm to the hands before going to sleep allows the cream to penetrate deeply into the layers of skin.
